A New Start

Well it's all about to happen
We are about to start with mandatories on line and hopefully Domestic Violence training. Which by the way is now decreededas Health Dept Policy and mandated.
Thanks to the Virtual class from the Hunter new England crowd we can start the long hard battle with the IT Beast to get this to happen.

The year is closing

It is finally comeing to a close
The 2004 FLL years ends soon
But before we close this chapter in we have one final fling for those interested in Flexible learning
A hands on experience in Port Macquarie on 5 Nov and a presentation in Coffs Harbour on the 10 Nov.
Both these events are directly linked to Networking 04 the On Line conference of the National Flexible Learning Framework.
Both sessions are free and both will help educators in using some free objects in the development of flexible learning tools.

See you there Rod

Life Coaching (Training)

Well it is almost over.
I am surprised at the skills knowledge and changes in my thinking the have occured over past 12 weeks.
Who would have timagined that a tele-call could be as powerful, I know that the teleconferences I attend are far from satisfactory with more than 4 or 5 paticipants
I have changed the way I think, the way I talk and the way I listen
Coaching is a powerful tool
I recommend it to everyone

Postcards from paradise

Time is flying and the postcard was needed for the Flexible Learning Leaders. Here is a snippit:

Where does one start when so much has happened.
This role is one of time consuming passion and makes me feel like an investigative reporter in one of the world’s trouble spots.

I was fortunate to be present at the NSW Health LearnScope meeting last month and two expletives we mentioned. I am sorry to say but the "F" and "C" words have raised their head with members of that team.

F = Flexible and C = Collaboration. These two words, if we can grasp there entirety, will change the thinking of the Organisation.

Leadership development

What a guide for the new and developing leader. This magnificant book written by Margot Morrell and Stephanie Capparell outlines the skills and styles of the great Antartic explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton. The books title is "Shackleton's Way: Leadership lessons from the great Antartic explorer. "
With a simple style and some fantastic advise for budding leader, it is a great read and an insight into the life of one of the worlds last great explorers.

It just keeps on spinning

When will it stop, This eLearning this just moving streaks ahead. Who would have thought that this would catch on so well.
It must be all the work by the previous FLLs.
I have now been approached by the clinical staff to work on some great projects, Yet they are re inventing the wheel. The LearnPRN site is a wealth of information and has the potential to explode with morse as the demands increase I cant wait to see the end result
Electronic marking of tests for most this sems simple but for health this will be an landslide.

OZeLearn Visit

What an experience, The time spent with these professionals was exceptional
The hosted environment for learning is a blessing with none of the ongoing costs for upgrades of software and it is someone elses problem to administer the site and registrations.
The reportability is excellent and capabilities wonderful
You need to experience it to believe it.
Just comment and I will explain my emotions
